What Is Wholesome Living?

  • My Mom's warm chicken soup when I have a cold
  • Being virtually debt-free
  • Family time in the evenings without TV
  • Fresh-picked strawberries from my Mother-In-Law's garden
  • Life-giving scriptures from the Bible
  • Hugs and kisses from my Sweetheart and my babies
  • Farm fresh milk and eggs
  • Uplifting music
  • Exercise

From this list, you'd think I was describing the Amish lifestyle, huh?  :o)  I'm not Amish, and I haven't mastered this list, but these are some things that make me think of the word wholesome.

What does wholesome mean to you?  What exactly does wholesome mean anyway?

Wholesome: Conducive to moral or general well-being; beneficial; healthy.

Yep, that sounds about right.   But is it possible?

Things are so different than they used to be.  We live in such a fast-paced society full of so many un-wholesome temptations.  But lately, my heart has been longing to discover the old ways - the simple life.

Is it really possible to live a wholesome life?

To raise children in a wholesome environment?

To thrive and not just survive?

If so, how do we go about it?

I'm on a journey to find the answers to these questions.  And I want to share with you what I discover.

I hope you'll stick around.
